Frequently asked questions

What are beez whisper eco wraps?

beez whisper eco wraps are reusable, washable and biodegradable food wraps, hand-crafted in Melbourne, with locally-sourced pure beeswax, mostly 100% GOTS certified organic cotton fabric, pure Australian jojoba oil and natural tree resin.

beez whisper eco wraps are ideal to wrap cheese, sandwiches, snacks, bread loaves, cut or leftover vegetables, jars and bowls.

Being naturally antibacterial and anti-fungal, they keep fruits and vegetables fresh longer. They also work great for fermentation (such as Kombucha, Koji, Miso and Sauerkraut) or sprouting as they allow air circulation while blocking moisture.

Sizing details

beez whisper eco wraps come in 3 sizes;
- Small 20x20cm (great for small vegegetables, cut fruits, cheese and snacks)
- Medium 28x28cm (perfect for sandwiches, sushi rolls and rice balls, wrapping vegetables and fruits, covering bowls and jars)
- Large 35x35cm (almighty as wrapper for large vegetables, bread loaves, casseroles dishes, etc. etc.)

How to use and care instructions?

Care with love♡
Simply use the warmth of your hands to fold, wrap and seal. AVOID CONTACT WITH HEAT (no microwave, no dishwasher please!), the wraps are not suitable for raw meat, raw seafood or anything oily-greasy. Do not leave them in extreme heat such as near the oven or in a car on a hot day.
To wash, you can wipe them with a damp cloth or gently hand-wash with a soft sponge in cold soapy water (do not scrub with hard sponge) and hang dry, then store in a cool dry place such as in the cupboard or kitchen drawers.

The wraps will have creases and stains as you use them over time which is completely normal. Any residual wax on your glassware can be easily removed by washing with mild soap and lukewarm water.

How long do they last?

Although it depends on how much you use, the wraps usually should last for 6 months to 1 year if properly cared. They may look a bit tired after a while with wrinkles and creases, then you can revive them by reheating it in the oven (low heat, approx. 100°C) on a tray lined with baking paper for 5 mins or until the wax coating melts, and then pick with a tong while its hot and hang them to cool down and dry. You can repeat this process as long as there's enough coating remaining on the surface.

As they are made with all natural ingredients, you can simply add them into your compost bins or bury in the soil at the end of their life so they can go back to the earth.
